A slight change of pace this week, as we come away from our usual meaningless musings to try and shed some light on a real issue that is happening right now.
We are joined by George Bates; one of the players recently affected by the classification conflict, between the IPC and IWBF, that might cost him and a handful of others a chance to compete in the Tokyo Paralympic Games.
George is a reigning European and World Champion, but the unusual nature of his disability has lead to him being deemed ineligible to continue competing in international events. This has happened as a result of the IWBF aligning their classification rules with the IPC, who do not cater for disabilities such as George’s.
Listen in to find out how George is planning on fighting this, and what you can do to help in the movement to give all disabilities a fair opportunity to compete.
We hope this is informative, and thanks for your support!
